About Hopper / Grain Trailers
Hopper trailers, otherwise known as grain trailers, provide an easier way to transport grain or other bulk items from a field to an elevator or between other locations. Once loaded, a grain trailer is designed for quick unloading, with sloped sides and generally at least two hoppers with sliding plates on the bottom of the trailer.

2014 Timpte Hopper Trailer
Cornhusker takes credit for designing some of the first grain trailers to feature two larger hopper doors to replace the multiple smaller sliding doors common on trailers at the time. Along with more traditional hopper and grain trailer models, Timpte offers tri-axle models that are designed to handle larger payloads. Jet’s grain trailers, meanwhile, feature patented rounded hoppers and slopes that function like a funnel once the grain door opens. According to Jet, the approach works well for high-moisture materials.
Regardless of the manufacturer, you’ll find trailers constructed of aluminum, steel, or some combination that include a variety of sidewall heights, overall trailer lengths, capacities, and tub options to go along with such options as ladders and protective rolling tarps.
