This Dorsey AF 53' Aluminum Giant Flatbed Trailer is built for flatbed operators who want a strong, lightweight trailer with the versatility to handle demanding freight. With an 80,000 lb. GVWR, 53' overall length, and 8'6" overall width, this aluminum flatbed is a strong fit for steel, lumber, building materials, pipe, machinery, palletized freight, and general flatbed hauling.
The trailer is built around a 25" fabricated pre-cambered aluminum I-beam main frame with Dorsey’s standard beam package rated at 52,000 lbs. in a 4' span. It also includes a coil haul package, giving customers added confidence when hauling concentrated loads that require a tougher flatbed spec.
The deck features 1-1/2" extruded aluminum floor decking with two nailers, supported by 5" C-channel floor sills on 15" centers. The integrated extruded aluminum J-track side rails, double L aluminum winch track on both sides, and 12 double L winches give operators flexible cargo securement options for a wide range of loads.
This trailer rides on an air ride rear axle slider suspension with a 3-position setup, allowing kingpin-to-rear-axle settings of 40', 43', and 10'2" spread. It is equipped with two 22.5K capacity axles, Type 30 brake chambers, automatic slack adjusters, Wabco 2S/1M ABS, and an electric dump valve wired through the auxiliary 7-way plug at the front of the trailer.
Additional equipment includes polished aluminum outside wheels, steel inner wheels, 295/75R22.5 Rovelo deep tread tires, aluminum pipe spools, stake pockets on 24" centers, rubber inboard dock bumpers, anti-sail mudflaps, 12 J-handles with roadside holder, Grote Ultra Blue sealed wiring, and five micro marker lights per side.
