- I am the original purchaser/owner/operator of this 2008 Ram 5500 4x4 with 120" Cab/Axle flatbed. The truck did not come with D.E.F. from the factory. It has been extremely well cared for and meticulously maintained. The engine and rear axle have had Amsoil since 4400 miles. The transmission fluid is oem Mopar. It has never been driven by another person, ever. The Cab, doors fenders and hood have ZERO rust.
- I had a custom bed and bumper built that work flawlessly. The steel framed bed is 17' long plus a 14" wide bumper (easy step up and down) and finished with 4 sheets of aluminum diamond plate on top. 3" x 1/4" flat bed rails along both sides and rear for ratchet strap tie downs anywhere along bed. The entire bed was Rhino lined when built and the bed rails look a bit displeasing to the eyes but have no problem holding down a load with confidence. The front anti-wildlife bumper has two 10" Light-Force lights which work perfectly with in cab switch on dash.
- The oem turbo and exhaust brake were replaced and upgraded with new BD products about 35,000 miles ago. The engine brake works awesome and is much much stronger than the oem. All service records since new are in one small book that stays in the glove box. The truck runs extremely smooth, quite powerful and plenty strong enough to go to the distance.
- Both seats and console have been upgraded to Katskin leather, but the drivers seat does show wear a seen in pics. The driver seat has heat and massage, passenger seat has none.
- The radio has been upgraded to an Alpine head unit with an Alpine amp and four Focal speakers. The truck does come with XM radio and can be re started with a simple phone call to XM.
- The front bumper has a heater plug for the engine block heater and works perfectly. The 4x4 shifter is in the floor and is manually engaged, no push button garbage. The 4x4 dash light works when it wants to, this has been a flaw from Dodge and after the third replacement, I didnt bother to replace again with a subpar part. If the lever in pulled back, its in 4x4HI. If its pushed forward, its in 4x4LO. If its in the middle, its in neutral.
- The rear of the truck bed has a tool box that use to house all extension cords. The truck had a wrap that was removed and some very small visible evidence can be seen on the hood.
As an indication of how this truck has been driven its entire life, the front brake pads have only been replaced once in 165K miles and no indication of needing to be replaced for a while. The ONLY things replaced were the turbo and engine brake and those were not from operator error.
If you would like any more pictures, simply ask for the angle and I will be happy to add them to your request. With a clean vehicle title and a service history available, this RAM 5500 4x4 offers a reliable and safe option for those in need of a sturdy and versatile work vehicle.
