    About Freightliner Cascadia

Freightliner has a storied history that spans more than 75 years, but one of its most important models, the Cascadia, made its debut only a short time ago in 2007. The original lineup consisted of 113-inch and 125-inch BBC configurations as well as 48-inch, 60-inch, and 72-inch mid-roof and raised-roof sleeper cab configurations. In 2014, the company followed that up with the Cascadia Evolution, which featured the brand-new 400-horsepower Detroit DD15 engine. The most recent model, which Freightliner refers to as “the New Cascadia,” was revealed in 2016.

    Newer Cascadias

The Freightliner New Cascadia is one of the newest iterations of the series with a 60,600-pound gross vehicle weight and features galore. It is available with a day cab; a 48-inch, 60-inch, or 72-inch Mid-roof cab; or a 60-inch or 72-inch raised roof cab. Depending on whether you go with the Detroit DD13, Detroit DD15, Detroit DD16, or the Cummins X15 engine, you can expect to get anywhere between 350 and 605 horsepower, as well as up to 2,050 pounds-foot of torque.

You can also choose between a manual transmission (a nine-speed, 10-speed, 13-speed, 15-speed, or 18-speed Easton Fuller Advantage), an automated manual (the 12-speed Detroit DT12), or an automatic (the Allison 3000, 4000, and 4500 series).

    Connected Services

Depending on the model you choose, your Freightliner Cascadia may be able to take advantage of the Detroit Connect suite of vehicle connectivity services. Detroit Connect gives operators and fleet managers all the tools they need to remotely monitor truck health, get alerts if the system detects something wrong, and then get access to a technician as quickly as possible. The platform also makes it possible to remotely perform over-the-air updates, track performance analytics, and much more.
