Niche Trailer Types

Some enclosed trailers are built or converted into modular office trailers for use by management on a construction site or as mobile headquarters or emergency command centers for disaster relief. Also known as “doghouse trailers,” “mobile crew trailers,” “jobsite trailers,” or “job shacks,” office trailers may include a generator or power hookup, an air conditioner and perhaps a heater, a restroom, and other amenities. Some trailers are dedicated mobile restroom trailers or so-called luxury restroom trailers such as those made by Jag Mobile Solutions and others for outdoor events, on-location movie sets, and other venues. Concession trailers are common sights wherever food trucks are to be found, whereas commercial kitchen trailers offer more food preparation capability. Dog-grooming trailers allow pet groomers to make house calls, similar to the way medical trailers facilitate on-location treatment and blood donation drives.

An Air-Tow drop-deck trailer takes its name more literally than a traditional drop-deck, as its deck hydraulically descends to ground level so equipment can be driven or cargo wheeled onto it. Traffic sign trailers, also called “arrow board” or “light board trailers,” furnish portable electronic road signage around construction and street repair sites. Oilfield trailers include injection trailers that mix additives into drilling fluid, as well as flare trailers or flare stack trailers that burn off waste gases produced by oil and gas production. Vacuum trailers and sewer jetter/hydro jetter trailers remove clogging materials and debris from infrastructure and construction sites. Hunting trailers may provide an elevated shooting platform, gun and equipment storage, and cargo space for an ATV. As you can see, if there is a need, there is probably a trailer for it.
