    About The Peterbilt 389

The Peterbilt 389 on-highway truck’s roots date to 1987 with the introduction of the 379 model, which was unique at the time due to an option Peterbilt offered for a longer hood that gave the truck a BBC (bumper-to-back-of-cab) length of 127 inches (323 centimeters). Peterbilt manufactured the 379 until 2007 when the 389 replaced it. Peterbilt first revealed the 389 in 2006 at the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Kentucky.

    2014 Peterbilt 389

The truck, which is still in production, built on the 379’s legacy by offering a BBC length of 131 inches (333 centimeters) thanks to its extended hood. In 2014, Peterbilt revealed a 389 Pride & Class edition, which offered such special exterior features as a polished-steel louvered grille and polished-metal air intake vents on the hood. Interior highlights, meanwhile, included an arctic-gray color scheme with blackwood accents, chrome door handles, and a shifter plate and black leather seats that integrated the Pride & Class logo.
