    About Reel & Cable Trailers

    Lane LRE Single Reel Economy

Cable and reel trailers, which may be referred to as simply reel trailers or cable trailers (depending on the manufacturer, dealer, or seller), most often feature two or four wheels on a single or double axle and a fixed neck. These trailers are typically used for hauling and installing cable, for utilities, and other applications.

Common Reel & Cable Trailer Features

Although there are many different types of reel and cable trailers, most of them are configured so that the reel sits upright on the back of the trailer, allowing the wire, cable, pipe, or other spooled item to feed continuously from the back of the trailer. Many of these trailers feature a maximum tensioning or pulling capacity and a maximum pulling speed. Hydraulic drive systems are common, as are manual drives. Powered reel and cable trailers typically come standard with fail-safe brakes and emergency stop buttons to prevent injury to the operator or damage to the machine.

Find The Right Reel & Cable Trailer

TruckPaper.com has a large selection of new and used reel and cable trailers for sale from such popular manufacturers as Hogg & Davis, Lane, and Sherman Reilly. Optional features include an over spin brake, hot dip galvanizing, and other miscellaneous add-ons such as mud flaps, wheel chocks, or a spare tire mount.
