Founded as the Sechler Company in 1879, the company started developing truck trailers around 1910 and adopted the name “Trailmobile” in 1915. During World War I, The Trailmobile Company produced special types of trailers for gun mounts, search lights, quartermaster tanks, and field kitchens, among others. When the war ended, the company continued to create innovative trailers for commercial automobiles and railroad cars.

Trailmobile went through a few ownership changes over the years, but when it comes to modern operations, most models you’ll find on AuctionTime.com and TruckPaper.com were built by Trailmobile Canada Limited. The product lineup consists primarily of dry vans, though a variety of other trailer types are available. Trailmobile also created a parts and service distribution center in Erlanger, Kentucky with 80,000 square feet of space for trailer parts and accessories for all makes and models of trailers.

All Trailmobile intellectual properties were acquired by Manac in 2009.
