    About Wabash

Formerly known as “Wabash National,” Wabash is a leading designer and manufacturer of dry freight and refrigerated, platform/flatbed, and tank semi-trailers headquartered in Lafayette, Indiana. The company also produces dry and refrigerated truck bodies and high-performance, corrosion-resistant trailer converter dollies for less-than-truckload (LTL) fleets. The company’s other products include processing equipment solutions such as silos, tanks heads, horizontal tanks, and vertical storage tanks, and trailer aerodynamics products such as AeroSkirt and AeroSkirt CX trailer skirts. In 1987, Wabash designed and built the RoadRailer trailer, which features bimodal technology for easy transitions from roadways to railways and vice versa.

    Wabash DuraPlate Dry Van Semi-Trailer

    New Tech & Brands

Wabash began building trailers in 1985, and quickly established its name and reputation for innovation, most notably in the development of its DuraPlate composite panel technology. Wabash says the DuraPlate Cell Core Technology used in its dry vans reduces the weight of a 53-foot trailer by 300 pounds (136 kilograms) without compromising its strength or durability. Wabash refrigerated vans are built with the manufacturer’s proprietary EcoNex Technology, an advanced molded structural composite that the company says increases thermal efficiency by as much as 30%. EcoNex is also more durable and is up to 20% lighter, providing clear benefits to customers looking to reduce their carbon footprint.

Wabash originally called EcoNex Technology “MSC Technology,” but rebranded the composite In February 2022 along with its entire portfolio of brands. As such, brands it acquired over the years such as Benson, Brenner, Bulk Tank, Supreme, Transcraft, and Walker are now marketed as Wabash. The switch came after roughly four years of organizational changes, and reflects the company’s transformation and uniting of legacy brands as “One Wabash,” it says. In March 2022, Wabash formed a new tech-enabled, single-channel Wabash Parts distribution network to unify and expand its parts distribution capabilities across all its product lines.

    The Wabash Lineup

Wabash’s dry van family includes Dry Van and Dry Van For High-Density Loads lineups. Both feature DuraPlate Cell Core Technology composite panels. Wabash Dry Van trailers also incorporate damage- and corrosion-resistant components, LED lights, and the propriety TrustLock Plus door system for easier operation and damage prevention when loading and unloading. Dry Van For High-Density Loads trailers are designed for maximum durability and payload capacity to meet the toughest load requirements. Wabash’s platform trailer lineup includes aluminum flatbed and drop-deck, combo flatbed, steel and drop deck, and coil hauler models. Its tank trailers include 3A sanitary, asphalt, chemical, crude/petrochemical, farm pickup, food-grade, and other models.
