    About Recycling Trucks

Recycling trucks handle curbside collection duties for municipal recycling centers and general waste disposal companies. They are essentially garbage trucks whose dump bins are often subdivided into multiple interior compartments to keep items separated by type or to allow simultaneous collection of recycling items and trash. These trucks come in side loader, front loader, rear loader, and roll-off varieties.

    Types Of Recycling Trucks

Roll-off trucks, also known as “dumpster trucks,” back up to large metal containers and lift them onto a hydraulic tilting bed using a cable hoist. The trucks then haul the dumpsters to transfer stations or recycling facilities to be emptied, after which they reverse the process and drop them off again. Roll-off trucks are helpful for collection at recycling drop-off points and transporting larger recyclable items such as tires and scrap metal. specialized recycling trucks allow for curbside collection of recyclable items such as plastics, aluminum, glass, newspaper, and cardboard.

Front loader trucks have automated forks mounted to the front to lift the container over the truck and turn it upside down to empty the contents into the truck’s hopper. These are most frequently used to empty large commercial dumpsters. Rear loader trucks have a large opening in the back of the vehicle where items can be tossed. Some trucks have an automatic lifting mechanism to empty containers so the operator does not have to do it manually. As the name implies, sideloading trucks are loaded from the side either manually or automatically with a mechanical arm.
