Trailers with a curtain side or roll tarp are flatbeds with a system in place to easily cover cargo and eliminate the need for drivers to manually install tarps. Roll tarp trailers for sale are commonly listed as “Conestoga trailers,” which feature a sliding tarp that covers the sides and top of the trailer. Drivers can pull the tarp all the way forward (or sometimes backward) when they want to access the side, rear, or overhead cargo. Steel tracks and wheels, which are mounted to a vertical framework, allow a single person to quickly cover and uncover the flatbed. The design offers more protection than a roll tarp, but prevents loading cargo from above.
