Types Of Bodies

Many of the truck bodies you’ll find for sale here are roll-off frames that may or may not come with a roll-off container or body. Some roll-off bodies use hook lift hoists or jib hoists for loading; others use a cable hoist or cable lift on a winch bed to load or unload a roll-off container.

Other sundry types of truck bodies include grain bodies for agriculture; chipper bodies for tree care and forestry; garbage bodies for refuse, recycling, and waste management; landscape bodies with drive-off ramps for lawn mowers, turf care machines, and stump grinders; and salt spreader bodies (called “gritters” in the U.K.) to melt ice on roads or spread gravel or sand over icy streets.

Take-off pickup boxes are also common finds here. These are pickup beds removed from new truck chassis to make way for the installation of other types of truck bodies such as flatbeds and service truck bodies.
