BWS Tag Semitrailer

Tag semitrailers are designed primarily to haul vehicles, construction equipment, and other types of payloads. Also referred to as “tag-along trailers,” these trailers commonly come outfitted with decks constructed of hardwood planks (often cut from apitong or oak wood) and rearward ramps, or beavertails, for loading and unloading wheeled and motorized equipment and vehicles.

Common Features

Tag semitrailers typically have two or more axles and either frame-level or gooseneck hitches. Optional extras can include hydraulic ramps, tilting decks, electric hydraulic or air brakes, and movable D-rings. While the smallest tag trailers are designed to transport essentially the equivalent of no more than a riding lawn mower and a few weed eaters, heavy-duty tag semitrailers are more durably built so they can safely haul full-size construction equipment such as excavators and crawler dozers that can weigh 60 tons (54.4 metric tons) or more.
