Construction & Features
Common features of water tank trailers include poly or stainless steel tanks, metal frames, tandem axles with leaf springs, adjustable height ball hitches, and centrifugal or high-pressure pumps. Optional equipment can include items such as spray bars, various hose types, including fire hoses and pressure hoses, various hitch types, and automated hose reels. Hydraulic braking is most common, but some models also offer electric brakes as well. Some tank trailers have pump systems to release the water from the tank while other, simpler models use gravity.
